Apr. 16: Drammers Austin -w- La Maison Du Whisky and PM Spirits' Meryl Cocuzza...
Hello Austin Drammers!
We’re very excited to invite you to join us for a VERY special tasting on April 16th at 7:30pm. This will easily be the biggest lineup we’ve ever poured at a Drammers Austin tasting, which takes a little explaining. The focus at this event will be the Artist Series from La Maison du Whisky, a titan of the whisky community in Europe. Their stores in Paris feature some of the rarest whisky bottles anywhere on earth, and their independent bottling lines are designed to match. They have recently engaged our friends at PM Spirits to be their US Importer, and they are hosting a series of ultra-high end tastings with our club this year — Austin will be the first stop. Our guest speaker to walk us through this amazing lineup will be Meryl Cocuzza, she is one of the top people at PM (I believe her title is “National Import Specialist”). As for the lineup, she’s bringing nearly the entire new Artist Series line from La Maison — which is almost too good to believe:
Artist Series - Glen Garioch 34yo (1988) - this retails for $962/bottle
Artist Series - Glenburgie 28yo (1995) - $728/bottle
Artist Series - Tamdhu 16yo (2006) - $494/bottle
Artist Series - Ardmore 13yo (2003) - $221/bottle
And to mix things up, we’ll also feature two releases from another fantastic spirit in the La Maison portfolio:
Hampden Estate rum’s biggest annual release, the Hampden Great House 2024 bottling, and
Hampden Estate HLCF Classic Single Jamaican Rum 120 Proof
That is one insane lineup, ha. It might change a little, but you get the idea — not an event to miss. We hope you can join us. A big thank you to Dan Salter for organizing and to John Orton for hosting us again (address: 501 west ave, 6th Floor, Austin 78701). We’ll order in light food, which is included with your ticket (likely pizza) and as always we strongly encourage everyone to arrange a ride home — we’re going to be drinking a lot of cask strength whisky after all!
Cheers,
Charlie, Dan and Drammers Club
