Fellow Drammers!

We’re excited to invite you to a special online deep dive tasting with Copperworks Distillery, located in Seattle, Washington, on Wednesday, Oct. 25th (starting at 8pm EST / 5pm Pacific in the US). Our guest speakers will be the distillery’s President and Co-Founder Jason Parker, and their Co-Owner and Vice President Jeff Kanof. The distillery is one of a small handful of distilleries that are entirely focused on American Single Malts (in other words, 100% malted barley and double-distilled in pots like a Scotch would be, but made here in the United States). The Seattle Chapter of our club has long been fans of this distillery, and we even arranged an event where our Seattle chapter toured the distillery in person, but this will be our first time presenting the distillery to our broader club online. Our Seattle chapter head has been collecting rare bottles for just such an event, and thanks to him, our generous friends at Copperworks, and a special bottling contributed by Joshua and Jason of Single Cask Nation, we’ve got one hell of a lineup for this tasting:

  • American Single Malt, Brewery Cask, Release #24. Five Malt recipe, aged for 29 months in New American Oak and then finished for 2 months in a Three Magnets Tompkins Imperial Stout Cask 50% abv, 1 of 500 bottles.

  • American Single Malt, Washington Peated Malt, Release #40. From Skagit Valley Malting, aged for 61 months in a New American Oak Cask (Single Cask 169, Malt 65.5% abv, 1 of 201 bottles)

  • American Single Malt - Release #41. Aged 37 months in 9 casks (96.4% New American Oak, 3.6% Oloroso Sherry), 50% abv, 1 of 1743 bottles.

  • Craft Malt Week 2022 Bottling, American Single Malt. Baronesse barley from Joseph’s Grainery in Colfax, WA, harvested 2019, maltster is LINC Malt in Spokane, WA. Aged 30 months in New American Oak, cask #387. 1 of 219 bottles - 60.45% abv

  • Craft Malt Week 2023 Bottling, American Single Malt. Genie barley from Coulee Hite farm in Reardon, WA. Harvested 2020, LINC Malt again is the Maltster. Aged 3 years in char #2 new American oak. Single Cask #442, 1 of 210 bottles. 60.3% abv.

  • American Single Malt, Moscatel Cask - 50% abv (details to come)

  • American Single Malt - Release #47. Baronesse Malt, & Five Malt, Chat #2 new American oak, aged at least 3 years, 1 of 1415 bottles. 50% abv

  • American Single Malt - Release 48. Baronesse, Five Malt and Pale Malt, 92.5% new American oak, 7.5% manzanilla sherry casks. Aged at least 3 years. 1 of 1310 bottles. 50% abv

  • Single Cask Nation - Double Cask Bottling (casks #294 and 321). Aged 3 years in New Charred American Oak. Bottled August 2022, 1 of 454 bottles. 56.1% abv

How about that for a lineup! We hope you can join us!
