Oct. 12: Online Tasting with Bruichladdich's Eva MacIntyre......

$155.00

Fellow Drammers!

On October 12th, we’re hosting our annual mega-online tasting starting at Noon Pacific / 3pm EST in the US and 20:00 in the UK. This year, we’ll be joined by Eva MacIntyre, a brand ambassador who works at the distillery and joined the team about a year ago, as well as our longtime friend of the club and fellow Drammer Devin Vilardi, this National Brand Ambassador here in the US. The lineup will feature 10 expressions, many of which are one-off bottlings they released at the distillery during their “Rock’NDaal” open day at this year’s Feis Ile (the big whisky festival on Islay that takes place each year in May. We had about 20 Drammers members in attendance this year and managed to get multiples of all their special festival releases, which were only released at the distillery that day! Not wanting to torture you too much, we have also included a number of releases that are actually available to buy here in the US, and we’ve worked with our retail partner www.DRINQY.com to bring in their entire line. Check out our lineup:

  • Octomore 15.2, Distilled in 2018 from 2017 harvest, aged 5 years, originally filled into a combination of second fill wine casks (42%) and second fill bourbon casks (58%). In 2023 the spirit was recasked into first fill Cognac casks for the remainder of its maturation life, 108.2 PPM, 57.9%

  • Bruichladdich 18yo, Matured exclusively on Islay, primarily in ex-Bourbon casks and a small number of wine casks, The Bruichladdich Eighteen is the epitome of Bruichladdich's signature unpeated house style. Full bodied and beautifully fragrant, notes of honey, butterscotch, and citrus orange open on the nose, with a medley of tropical fruits and toasted mellow oak lingering on the palate. 50% abv,

  • Bruichladdich - Bere Barley 2013. What is Bere Barley? Here’s how Bruichladdich describes it: Dating back to the dawn of Scottish agriculture, Bere barley is one of the most fascinating and genetically diverse grains still cultivated today. As well as having a unique flavour, championing the ancient strain builds resilience and adds variety to barley growing. And at Bruichladdich Distillery, we recognise that genetic diversity is crucial to future-proofing land management. We have been working with the University of the Highlands and Island’s Agronomy Institute since 2005 to reintroduce Bere barley to the whisky industry. Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2013 is a testament to this complex cereal. Matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill Pauillac wine casks, the single malt delicately balances the malty sweetness of the Bere barley with the oak, with hints of fresh green fruits and lightly spiced gingerbread. 50% abv,

  • Islay Barley 2013. This is the 8th release from Bruichladdich in this Islay Barley series, and while it doesn’t carry an age statement, our understanding is that this unpeated single malt is an 8 year old. They do disclose that it has been matured in a combination of 75% first fill American oak casks, and 25% second fill French oak casks having previously contained Ribera del Duero, Syrah, and Pauillac wines.

That’s our lineup, we hope you can join us! The event will take place over Zoom:
