You’re invited to join us on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7pm as we welcome Ardbeg’s Master Blender and Head of Whisky Creation (she is actually in that role at Glenmorangie Company as a whole, but this event will focus on her Ardbeg creations). As we understand it, this is her first visit to the United States, and we’re excited to give her a big warm Drammers welcome! She’s bringing a special unreleased cask sample just for us, along with a bunch of fun new releases, and we’ve sourced a couple of independent bottlings of Ardbeg (that are not available in the US) to fill out the lineup. Specifically we’ll be drinking:

  • Seann Chreag 21YO Travel Retail Exclusive. Aged in both Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, 46.8% abv. "Seann Chreag" translates to "Ancient Rock" in Gaelic.

  • Surprise Special Cask sample brought by Gillian

  • Y2K (23yo). This bottle normally retails around $800. Distilled on New Years Eve as the world was freaking out about the “Y2k” bug,  

  • Smokiverse, the new Ardbeg Day release! The experiment is a higher “gravity” of the wash (which means a higher sugar content going into fermentation, created by dialing down the water and ramping up the grain in the mash). The result? A fruitier, sweeter, and astonishingly intense Ardbeg, producing a richer style of new make spirit that carries through to the final whisky. Matured in classic bourbon casks to let the amplified spirit shine.

  • Ardbeg 17yo. This recreation of the cult favorite historic release attempted to recreate everything — even sticking to the original 40% abv.

  • Independent Bottling by Cask Masters - 15yo Ardbeg. Matured for 15 years in a First Fill Rivesaltes Barrique. Distilled 22 October 2009, bottles 14 March 2025, 1 of 308 bottles, Cask #26001/2009. 54.5% abv. Special bottling released at the Feis Ile festival 2025.

  • Independent Bottling by Cut Your Wolf Loose - 14yo Ardbeg. Aged in a refill sherry butt, distilled 29th of October, 2008, bottles the 16th of May 2023. 1 of 274 bottles, 63.8% abv.
