Hello Chicago Drammers!
On Friday, October 24th at 7pm, you’re invited to join us for a special intimate tasting with Chris Maybin, the Head of Commercial for the Nc’Nean Distillery in Scotland. Longtime members will recall that we had the pleasure of welcoming Nc’Nean founder Annabel Thomas to our Chicago chapter back in 2023 (it was actually two years to the day — October 24, 2023!), and last year we welcomed Phil Nickson, the then-Commercial Head who has since moved over to our friends at Elixir. Well, since they Nc’Nean has released a LOT of new special releases, and so we’re thrilled to welcome Chris as our guest speaker to give us a chance to try them and tell us all about the latest news from this wonderful, organic distillery.
For those not familiar with the Nc’Nean Distillery, located in the Highlands, it has emerged as one of the most innovative new distilleries in Scotland. Not only is it an organic distillery, but it is one of only two distilleries in the world that are B Corp certified, and they are also verified as net zero carbon emissions for scopes 1 and 2. For those who know what those qualifications mean, it’s no joke, this is not a brand just tossing around the word “organic” lightly, and it’s especially remarkable in the energy hungry process that goes into making Scotch whisky. It's not an exaggeration that their focus on producing an organic and sustainable product is changing the industry's thinking about production.
The lineup may change a little bit, so don’t hold us to this exactly, but we recently hosted Annabel at our chapter in Brooklyn and we’re guessing the lineup will be pretty similar, which included:

Of course, we are proud to say that our retail partner carries all of these in stock.
Tickets are $10/person for Members, and $25/person for Non-Members, which is mostly to cover the pizza we’ll be ordering in (included with your ticket to try to ensure that nobody is drinking on an empty stomach!). A huge thank you to our chapter heads Michael Nolan and Elhan Orhon for organizing!
