Oct. 8: Online Lagavulin Tasting with Diageo's Ewan Morgan......

$70.00

Fellow Drammers!

On Wednesday, Oct. 8th, starting at 5pm Pacific / 8pm EST, you’re invited to join us for a special tasting of some ultra-rare Lagavulin bottlings from this year’s Feis Ile festival on Islay, among other things. And we are incredibly honored to welcome back Ewan Morgan, a longtime friend of the Club. He wears a lot of hats at Lagavulin’s parent company — National Luxury Ambassador, National Program Director, Head of Whisky Outreach — which is all just a fancy way of saying, he’s one of the most respected, knowledgeable and passionate people about whisky you’ll find in the industry, and he knows more about Lagavulin than anybody. For this tasting, we’ll be trying 6 expressions, including:

  • 2025 Feis Ile - Festival Bottling. This distillery exclusive was only available in May of this year on the day of Lagavulin’s “open day” during Feis Ile. It is a 15yo bottling of Lagavulin finished in Moscatel de Malaga casks, 1 of 1,596 bottles were released, and personally selected by their Distillery Manager Jordan Paisley. 55.7% abv

  • 2025 Feis Ile Handfill Distillery Exclusive. This year, Lagavulin had a handfill available during Feis Ile (probably not an official “festival” bottling, but it might as well have been, as I believe they sold out of the entire cask that day, or pretty close anyway). It’s a 12yo Lagavulin aged in a Madeira cask.

  • 2024 Lagavulin Jazz Festival Bottling. The distillery also releases a distillery exclusive bottling for the Islay Jazz Festival each year, and since it took place after we last checked in with Ewan (in September of last year), we wanted to make sure to give you, our members, a chance to taste it. It’s a 14yo, finished in South African Cabernet Sauvignon casks, 1 of only 1500 bottles, 56.1% abv.

  • Lagavulin 2024 Special Release 12yo. 57.4% abv

  • Lagavulin 16yo - we need to have their flagship release on hand for comparison!

  • Lagavulin 8yo. Released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Lagavulin distillery by John Johnston in 1816, this eight-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is big and smoky. 48% abv.

That’s our lineup, we hope you can join us! We’ll circulate the Zoom login details to those who signup closer to the event. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Cheers!
