July 16: Drammers Los Angeles with Glenfiddich......

Hello Los Angeles Drammers!

You’re invited to a special impromptu tasting on Wednesday, July 16th at 7pm, and a big thank you to Bino for hosting us again (address: 4501 Don Arturo Place, Los Angeles, CA, 90008).

This event came together last second for a wonderful reason — our friends at William Grant have just hired a new brand ambassador! We received a wonderful text from our longtime friend Lorne Cousin, who is one of the most senior people in the William Grant & Sons team here in the US overseeing their Balvenie and Glenfiddich portfolios. He explained they’d just hired a new brand ambassador, that he was in LA all week getting them up and running, and he’d love to introduce them to our group. Hooray!

What whisky will be featured at the tasting. We don’t know exactly, and to be honest we didn’t press Lorne on it, he never rolls into an event without a case of big bottles. “We can pour some nice scotch including our Grand Series, 21 year and above” is what he’s told us so far. That’s good enough for us! (If you look it up, you’ll see — the Grand Series is no joke).

We hope you can join us! Lorne is going to be ordering in some appetizers (included). Please come prepared to ask (friendly!) questions if you can — it’ll be a good warmup exercise for their new ambassador. Sadly, I (this is Charlie writing this) will have to miss out on the fun — since this came up so last minute (but don’t feel too bad for me, I’ll be in Scotland, ha). But I’ll be in town for events in Orange County on Sep 3rd and in LA on Sep. 4th. In the meantime, have a blast with Lorne and their new brand ambassador, and once again a big thank you to Bino for organizing!
