We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Big Bunnahabhain tasting (online) will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18th starting at Noon Pacific, 3pm EST in the US and 20:00 in Scotland. We’ll be joined by the biggest possible guest speaker in the Bunnahabhain universe - Master Blender Julieann Fernandez. We had the pleasure of visiting with her at the distillery on their big festival day in May — Feis Ile! — where they release some of their biggest releases of the year, including many that are only available in person at the distillery day of the festival. We loaded up on them so that you, our members, could get a chance to try some of these very limited, exclusive releases. This tasting will feature at least 8 expressions, including some massive bottles that you’re unlikely to have another chance to try:

  • Lillian’s Legacy. This limited edition, distillery exclusive single malt celebrates an extraordinary milestone of Lillian MacArthur's 50 years of dedication to Bunnahabhain. For five decades, her commitment, knowledge and passion have been woven into the fabric of our Islay distillery. To honour her, we present this distillery exclusive bottling. A marriage of five exceptional casks spanning fives decades: 1975 Marsala, 1989 Moscatel Wine, 1997 Moine Manzanilla, 2007 Oloroso and 2014 Bourbon. Each cask was carefully selected to reflect a facet of Lillian's remarkable character, combining sweet, fruity, nutty, and subtly savoury notes. The result is a single malt layered with complexity, balancing richness and depth with an intriguing dry edge and a delicate twist of smoke. Only 150 bottles ever made, and we’ll be drinking 2 of them at this event. 50.4% abv.

  • New Acquaintance 34yo. Released in 2020, this was the second in a series of ultra-premium releases to celebrate the new year. This second release in the series features some of Bunna’s rarest whiskies, and here Master Blender Julieann Fernandez has married Bunnahabhain matured in Oloroso sherry and American oak casks for a minimum of 34 years. These rarely appear even on the secondary market, and when they do you’re looking at over $1,000/bottle. One of 650 bottles. 41.5% abv

  • Feis Ile 2025 Release: Turas Math No. 3 (19yo). Another whisky you’re unlikely to get another chance to try. Distilled on the 9th of March 2005, this distillery exclusive dram started off in presumably ex-bourbon oak casks before finishing in a hand-selected single cask from the Armagnac region of Gascony, southwestern France (French oak). 19 Year Old single malt, bottled in 2024, a beautifully complex character, with layers of dried fruits, vanilla, caramel and delicate spice. Chosen with precision by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez. 50.2% abv

  • Feis Ile 2024 Release: Turas Math No. 2. As far as we know, this is another distillery excluisve. No age statement. Beginning its life in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in rare Palo Cortado hogsheads, delivering a single malt that skilfully harmonises the rich warmth of American oak with the complexity and elegance of Palo Cortado sherry. Hand-picked by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez. 58.4% abv

  • Feis Ile 2025 Release: Turas Math No. 1 (15yo). 'Turas Math' is Scots Gaelic for the beginning of the journey. A journey full of anticipation, a sense of adventure and the promise of return to familiar shores. Just like a ship's voyage, our journey begins with preparation: the finest Scottish barley, mineral-rich waters from the Margadale Spring, and hand-selected casks from Jerez and the Veneto region. Resting in our coastal warehouses, these elements slowly transform, shaped by sea air, time, and tradition. This release is part of our Westering Home Collection - a three-year series rooted in heritage, community and the journey home. A marriage of two exceptional cask journeys. Spirit first distilled in 2008 was fully matured for 15 years in Manzanilla Sherry casks from Jerez, synonymous with our signature distillery style. It was then expertly married with spirit that spent 10 years in refill casks, then finished for 5 years in Amarone wine casks, the bountiful rewards from an adventure to the Vento region in Italy. Personally selected by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez, who set sail on a voyage of discovery through flavour, these casks were filled and matured by the sea at Bunnahabhain, before being masterfully married to create a whisky of depth, contrast and coastal elegance. A handful of these were released in the US. 55.9% abv

  • Plus at least 3 more expressions to be announced (very possibly more). These will either be the core range to use as a point of comparison (Their 12yo, Toiteach and Stiùireadair) and possibly a couple surprises.
