Sep. 10: Drammers NYC -w- Whiskey Jypsi......

Hello NYC Drammers!

We’re delighted to invite you to a special tasting with the CEO of Whiskey Jypsi on Sep. 10th at 7pm, which will take place at Brandy Library and will include light snacks, and we’ll basically be tasting through their entire range and some special bonus pours. This is an interesting one, and a brand I would confess I might have glazed over at first glance — celebrity whiskey organized around a country music celebrity that I wasn’t familiar with (and after all, this event is taking place in NYC, not exactly a hotbed of country music!). It’s a sourced whiskey blend, reportedly using a mix of Indiana and Kentucky whiskies, and certainly we’ve seen some high-end results when the folks at the helm are talented blenders (Proof & Wood, Widow Jane, etc.), but there are also quite a few players in that space who don’t stand out.

But then a few people I respect in the industry announced they were doing some stuff with Whiskey Jypsi, quickly scooping up special releases etc. and we received a few requests from people about bringing them into our retail partner DRINQY.com. So I poked around a little more and started finding some surprisingly strong reviews about their releases. So when they reached out offering to taste our NYC members through what they were working on (especially with our friends at Brandy Library!), I figured we’d be silly not to take them up on it.
